Here's the details of the Swedish dance and workshop on Saturday 30th August.
We're currently trying to plan a visit on Jan 9-11 2009 for the Whittlesey Strawbear Festival from a Basque men's dance team that we met in Gennetines. We're also trying to plan a return visit from Cedric Martin and another accordionist from Alsace on the first friday in January (2nd) 2009 in Stamford Arts Centre. We also hope they may be able to join us for our Irish set dance party on Thursday 1st January in Ketton. Lastly we're also looking to plan a visit from Sylvain (accordion) and his wife Catherine to teach us some more dances from Alsace and sing some great songs of his own.
Here are is some of the music - Four pieces, in PDF and GIF, kindly provided by Erik Ask-Upmark, for the Swedish music workshop and dance. This will enable any musicians to have a go at learning some of these wonderful tunes.
Thanks Adam (and Erik!). For those of us who (like me) might not be too hot at working out the tunes just from the dots, I have translated them into abc notation (which will play in a number of free or relatively cheap shareware music programs) and also into midi files, which should play the tune if you just click on them (I hope).
In the midi files have repeated the tunes 3 times each (except the Slängspolska which is rather short, so it plays 4 times through). I'm afraid I haven't include the bass lines, or the chords, as my abc isn't quite up to that!
Hope this helps? Si
(PS Upload will only allow 3 attachments, so the other 2 files are with the next message)
